I want to create buttons and add a white gradient transparent on top of it but at the edge of white color I have some kind of darker than white smooth edge. How to remove it? TIA

... You could try the "Dodge Tool". (looks like a black lollypop, below the Bucket Fill Tool) Set the RANGE to Shadows, and EXPOSURE to aprox 6% then gradually lighten the dark area. Mick
