Re: Are flat screen LCD monitors ready? On Mon, 14 Aug 2006 19:46:29 -0400, "KatWoman" The employ I am leaving is an insurance company, so yes I do/have done claim and failure investigation work. Whist a large proportion of our work is on low temperature hot water stuff for insurance and landlord's records type of thing, the main thrust of our work is statutory examinations on steam boilers and pressure vessels, such as air and gas receivers, nuclear reactors and Petrochemical refineries and chemical works. From the sublime to the ridiculous in size and risk factor and all done by the same surveyors - (I have done a major fractionating column (200ft +) in a chemical works and a little office heating boiler in the same day!!) These require such examinations in the UK and the majority or the rest of the world come to that, every so often by law. We do those statutory examinations. Don't be surprised at how many steam boilers are about you and each can cause quite nasty injuries if they fail. Look at Dry Cleaning shops. Usually quite a large one for the still and presses. Cafe's with their coffee machines - some work up to silly pressures now. Not just locomotives or big factory boilers, although there are plenty of them about, especially in food factories and the paper and brewing industries www.boilerbill.com - CV - now needing a job!! www.unseenlondon.co.uk www.blackpooltram.co.uk www.amerseyferry.co.uk BoilerBill
