Picking the proper lens for your 5D

There's absolutely no sense in buying a 5D unless you are going to mate it
with the proper lens.

Hummm. I'm trying to remember the laws of Genetic Inheritance from
High Schooll biology. Wouldn't such a mating be apt to produce
offspring at a ratio of 1-2-1: one phenomenally great photographic
instrument, 2 so-so instruments and one poor quality device that
would barely produce acceptable snap-shots? ;)

What a wild picture! - If I had a $4000 lens, I think I would buy whatever
camera it wanted to be mounted on! (Like the proverbial 800 lb. gorilla, a
$4000 lens will mount on any camera it wants...:^)

The driving issue here is that 99.9875% of Japanese could never tell the
difference between a Kobe and a Black Angus cut. Even cheap Angus has the
Kobe marbling. They are kissing the ground if they are lucky enough to get
a good American steak. Kobe is great and I agree with you that it is highly
overrated like Canon glass. A good compliment to any steak is an 8oz. baked
potato locked and loaded with butter and Cooper CV Sharp (White not yellow)
cheese. Now, the old Nikkor is the standard were others are judged. You
can't tell me that the old 5D doesn't look like it is very happy? That's
artwork and utter perfection.
