Re: (November, 20th) Picture of the Week You probably wouldn't like my answer. Flowers in B/W. That's just wrong. What a mess! That's the kind of artsy-fartsy crap I'd like to see you move away from. You say that you takes pics of what you like. Good for you, if that's true. What I see, however, is your constant attempt to take the type of pics that you think look "artsy." There is nothing artistic about taking pics of shadows on a wall. Anyone can take pics of shadows; it takes no talent. See? http://www.pbase.com/bret/image/69662743 Maybe it's just me, but I can't understand anyone wanting to view those pics for more than 2 seconds. I'll admit, I have a bias against most B/W pics. I like B/W in some instances, however, mainly portraits. Personally, I see the world in glorious color and prefer most of my pics that way. But that's just me. Here is my philosophy on photography: I look at all the beauty in the world and make a feeble attempt to capture some of it to share with others. I know that no photo can capture the real beauty of a scene or place, but the joy comes from the attempt. I'm not sure what your photo philosophy is. You live in Paris, which by all accounts is a beautiful city (I've never been there). But the pics you show us look like they were taken in WWII Berlin .... dark, gloomy images that make me depressed. Your color photo of the rose was a welcome change up from what you normally exhibit. I'd like to see more pics like that, photos that show Paris as a beautiful place, not a monochrome representation of some Parisian slum or another boring protest in the streets. I wish! C'mon Daniel, give us what we want! Go up there at sunset one evening with some color film. You know you can do it. Annika1980
