Tips on learing photoshop CS2

Hi,
I have a problem. I am not very conversant with photoshop but have
been asked to learn it. The graphics person that edited our web site
pics left and I have been asked to take over. We have a setup that
involves Adobe photoshop and illustrator. I know some basics but
would like to learn them from scratch and gain an intermediate level
of expertise with both programs. I was looking at some books/training
courses (total training/lynda etc) that offer to teach you these
programs. Would spending some money with these training courses worth
it or should I just stick to books like adobe ps cs2 CIB and its
illustrator sibling etc. Please comment. Thanks

Yeh the video courses are the quickest way to learn and they take you
from knowing nothing, all the way through to very advanced techniques,
Both these programs are huge learning curves so videos are well worth
the money, especialy if you get the firm to buy them, point out they are
tax deductable. Books are good too but much slower than video. If you
want to see a master class on video buy Bert Monroys photoshop Videos

Once you have the basics the internet has lots of tutorial where you can
learn anything
