At least 10 seconds, or the amount of time it took me to open my car
door and stand up.
Too bad it was on the wrong side of the car .... otherwise, it would
have made a nice "Roadkill" shot.

IMHO, I don't think the flash was used. Good choice, as it would have
scared the deer away. It would have brought out the bark on the trees,
but who cares about that. The main subject is what matters. You must
have waited for quite a while. Bitten by those pesky mosquitos. Good
work, and the deer doesn't even seem bothered by you.
