Re: Vivitar V3000S I have the P30T in my own arsenal of equipment, and I am quite pleased with it. You can take bulb exposures and it takes about 10 hours to exhaust a fresh set of batteries, so the battery issue is not all that bad. If you want mechanical you have several excellent Pentax alternatives. You could always consider the K-1000, for example. Pure mechanical, no self timer (you can do with a featureless camera, since you already have two others that have automated features). If you want fully mechanical, you'll get much better build quality with a Pentax model than you will with a generic. And parts are more readily available, should you need a CLA. Finally, the resale value of a genuine Pentax camera will always be higher, meaning that if you eventually sell or trade it you may recoup most of your initial investment. If top quality is important to you, consider the MX and LX. They were Pentax's heavy-duty models. Jeremy
