Re: Canon FD hood question On Fri, 4 Aug 2006 00:19:29 -0400, "Ken Rosenbaum" If you look carefully to the inside of the lip of the hood, next to the indentations, you'll see some semitransparent strips of soft material that provide the friction for the hood to stay in place. With the age they degrade and become goo. Pop them out with a needle, clean the slot and substitute with a little strip cut from some suitable material like semi-hard rubber or cork. You'll need to experiment with the size, do not make them too tight to avoid cracking the hood. As good as new. Yuki
