Oh my. There's something just so wrong in there somewhere. I think a
doctor, of any kind, is in order...

Equal parts hydrogen peroxide and water (to make a pint or two),
1/4 cup baking soda, couple teaspoons liquid soap - dish or hand
detergent works fine. Will take the smell out of just about anything.
Created by a chemist who knew why odors remained around so long.
Haven't tried it on skunk, or even vulture vomit (and yes, that's
pretty damn bad), but it works great on cat urine and generic
putrefaction.
Don't ask.

Unfortunately I remember that distinct smell, and it does indeed make
you sick.I pity the poor guy that had to clean up the mess. Bet he had
to wear a gas mask---literally.

Lol---good story Bill.My husband had to hide and or lock up his lunches
as well. There was a guy at work called "Simple Simon".This guy could
not be filled. He weighed over 400lbs.A restaurant near by opened up an
"All you can eat" buffet.Simple Simon got wind of it and he was banned
from the restaurant----due to the fact that he literally ate everything
in sight!

Whew! Good thinking Frank! If the dog was sprayed I heard tomato juice
is the way to go when trying to wash the odor out. But the vets office
has these new shampoos made for just such an occasion.

Re: Shoot-In: Roadkill is now up

Here's ET the Xoloitzquintle greeted by the neighborhood skunk. My
second action was to turn on the garden hose with a heavy spray
setting. The animals lost interest in each other, and the spray kept
the spray in check, more or less.

ET did try to make it indoors after a closer encounter, but I waylaid
him in the (stinky for weeks) den.
The "Xolo" is also known as "Mexican Hairless". His lack of hair or
fur makes de-stinking a less-challenging exercise, among other
benefits.

In my book, anyone who has the guts to open a car window to take a shot
My friend Vergne's stink story....By Billy Graham
It was the beginning of, "big Game Week" on the Stanford campus. This is the
football game between Stanford and UC Berkeley, and many students try to
pull off nasty tricks on the students on the opposing campus. Vergne was
able to obtain a bottle of Mercapton, a liquid that the gas company uses to
add that rotten egg smell to natural gas, so people will be warned of a gas
leak....Typically, one drop of mercapton will cause several hundred cubic
feet of natural gas to smell bad. Vergn's sample was a full pint of the
stuff. They were going to fill a water pistol with it, and go to the Cal
campus and squirt Cal students from the safety of their car.
They went into the men's room in their dormitory at Stanford, and took
the cap off the bottle to pour it into their water pistols. As soon as the
cap came off the bottle, all three of them began to throw up, and they
knocked the bottle off the shelf onto the tile floor, where it smashed into
many pieces, and spilled the whole pint of mercapton onto the floor, and
into the air conditioning ducts....Everyone in the dorm became instant sick,
and ran outside.

FWIW, the traditional antidote to eue de skunk is bathing in tomato juice.

My stink story....By Billy Graham:
I used to keep food in our fridge at work because we had a kitchen for use
by the midnight shift. I kept my stuff in a lockbox so the day shift guys
wouldn't steal it. One day, during our shutdown, when we were all on day
shift, I looked in my lockbox and found a steak that I had put in there
several months before. It was still in the supermarket plastic wrap, and
looked real good, but I knew it had to be bad, so I threw it away, but
before I did, I took the plastic wrap off of it, and then threw it in the
kitchen garbage can, instead of the Dempsey dumpster outside in the parking
lot. (several bad mistakes) The entire air conditioned building emptied in
about 5 minutes.......A crowd of about 30 people watched while I took the
kitchen trash can outside and emptied it in the dumpster......
