Nikon Digital lens on convention al body

Do any of the lenses for Nikon digital bodies work on F4's or other
Nikon film cameras?

Fit, yes. But they won't work well at all. They are designed for a smaller
sensor area and you will have strong vignetting.

Of course you can mount them. However, the image circle of the DX lenses
need not cover a 24x36 image.
And it doesn't.

Bear in mind also that since the digital sensor is smaller than the 35 mm
film frame, the lens when used on a digital camera will have an effective
focal length that is about 1.5 times it's focal length on a 35 mm camera.
IOW, a 50 mm lens on a 35 mm camera will be of the order of 75 mm when
mounted on a digital camera.

Be careful of the "G" lenses....They will mount and work, but unless your
body can control their aperture with a knurled wheel on the body of the
camera, you won't be able to adjust the lens aperture, because these lenses
don't incorporate an aperture control ring.......

As far as I know, any F mount lens will work on any Nikon camera that uses
that mount, and Nikons have been using that mount for over 40 years......If
the lens will mount on your camera, then you can use it, although some of
the features might not be useable on some cameras......And there are a very
few weirdo exceptions with specialty lenses.....
