Cheap

Bought a Canon Sppedlite 430EX today. Very nice flash, Works well,
yada yada yada. But, would it really have broke the company to put a
loop of some sort on the case so I could have the option of attaching
it to a camera bag strap, or something?

Who cares I don;t think I ever wanted a flash hanging off the bag
strap and I certainly don't want it hanging off the camera strap. Why
would I want the weight around my neck when its not being used? . My
flashes are either in the bag waiting to be used, or on the flash
bracket being used.

Try a leather repair shop. I found you have to
look for one that does 'custom work'. The ones
that just re-sole shoes and fix handbags are
worthless if what you have isn't a shoe or
a handbag.
Might make you a very nice chamois lined
plonge leather case... with Harley studs.

Re: Cheap

Yup, I've got a few cases like that, and it annoys me too.. But why
not drop into your nearest friendly old-fashioned upholsterer - you
will probably find that for a very modest fee, s/he can add something
that will look as if it belongs...

Don't feel bad. When I bought my Nikon F5 several years ago, it came with no
case at all. Nikon does make one, but they want $100 for it, and I'm not
even sure it's leather. Companies save money is lots of different ways....I
feel another rant coming on......I think I'll go lie down for a while, until
the feeling goes away.......
