[SI] Call for Mandates!

Put your thinking caps on and start to come up with some great mandates
for the next round.
Just write them down now. I'll let you know where to send them in a
few days...
Don't post them here.
Anybody good with Java or PHP?
Jim

Re: Call for Mandates!

I think that's what makes the photo .... that, and the babes, of
course.
I thought about doing some Photoshop work to make the bubble and the
lady's head even bigger, but I decided to leave it natural.

Don't forget Bret's "Another photo of my dog's anus."

Re: Call for Mandates!

This is about as close as I get to cheerleaders these days:

Damn restraining orders!

Re: Call for Mandates!

Pbase is already that solution, probably php or perhaps perl. One could
set up something similar and create temporary logins for the submission
period & give the password out by using 'Gallery' or similar open source
php program. Trying to do that from scratch would be complex with lots
of security problems.

Re: Call for Mandates!

What I am actually looking for is a web based submission form for the
images. Name, Email, Image; all emailed to a mostly private email
address. The SI account had all of 8 submissions and 400 Spams. So I
am trying to avoid a blatantly public email address and to be able to
change it quickly if it needs to be redirected. A static website seemed
a resonable solution.
The problem appears to be that I'm on an Apache server and it won't let
even temporary anonymous files on the server. Or more importantly, I
don't know how to do it :-) So I get the same error message.
The mandate submission script is done with Cgiemail, but that won't
deal with form attachments either.

I dropped a line to Pbase about setting up an anonymous upload gallery
that is invisible, but haven't heard back yet.
Any other input or thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: [SI] Call for Mandates!

PHP is full of security vulnerabilities. Java ain't much better. This is
particularly so if you don't keep absolutely up-to-date with the most
recent versions and patch levels.

Re: [SI] Call for Mandates!

What do you want with php, a way to submit mandates? If it's complex I'm
not quick enough but could do something simple.

Re: Call for Mandates!

I'm all over it!
Did you get Alan Browne's submission, "Stupid Little Colored Squares on
a Light Table?"
Or perhaps Rich Pos will grace us with, "My Perfect Life!"
And of course, don't forget "Yellow" by George Preddy, or "Pacific
Panoramas" by Scott W. If none of those suit you, we can always go
with Mark Morgan's "Boring Shots of my Computer Room," or Daniel
Rocha's, "Parisian Advertisements" or "Pathetic Parisian Protests."
D-Mac submitted a mandate, but pulled it immediately when someone read
it and told him how bad it sucked.

Re: Call for Mandates!

I am done testing.
Bowser wins the longest mandate title:
"Cheerleaders shooting pictures of insects while walking their dogs on
golf courses with birds in the background."
I am I really talking to myself in this thread?
Too bad therapy is so expensive.
Anyway submit Shoot-In Mandates to

Post them here:

Save a copy somewhere as I am still testing this out.
